About

Me

Who am I? My name is Vicky Guile and I’m a full time stay at home mum to two boys, that means my work has to fit in around their busy schedules (until they leave home that is!). I live in Jarrow, a small town in the North East of England. It’s not the best place on earth to live and isn’t all that picturesque but… it’s home, and with my boys and husband here, it is most definitely where my heart is!

My Work

I create one of a kind (OOAK) original and realistic food and fantasy dolls house miniatures. Mainly working in 1:12 (or 1 inch) scale with polymer clay as my main medium. With each piece of miniature food I try my very best to achieve as much a lifelike appearance as possible… not always that easy when working on a tiny scale… but its fun trying! My fantasy miniatures are often inspired by the books that I read or movies that I have seen, but I do try to inject as much as my own working style into the creation of each one, making them unique in my very own way.

    hello vicky
i bought some great bread moulds from you recently and you sent me some free black sand. the sand was really easy to use and effective (better than the stuff i had used before). i just wondered if you were selling any of this sand in your shop in the near future or perhaps you could tell me where i could buy some more, thanks, lynne x

    • Hi Lynne, so glad to read that you are loving the bread moulds. I will be listing black sand and ground apricot kernels sometime this week, look out for them in the DIY supplies section of my shop! sorry for late reply… hectic isn’t the word! xxx

Hi Vicky. Love all your miniatures, I’ve been sculpting etc for a couple of years but only just trying my hand at minis, was looking at your blog and realise we’re ‘neighbours’ I live in South Shields!

  5. Hi Dawn, just been to visit your Flickr gallery and I could have ‘favourited’ everything! Love your work… the soft sculpture dolls, drawings, paintings, polymer clay, ATC’s and minis… EVERYTHING!!! I have to say that for just starting making minis I am really impressed by what you have done… you even did some fish… as well as desserts I find fish really hard to do… so yep… very impressed. xxx

Thanks Vicky. I like to try different things….maybe that’s my problem! :)
    xxx

    • Hey Dawn, I wouldn’t think of it as a problem at all… it’s good to try our hands at many different mediums or genres, that way we can build up a greater wealth of crafting and arty knowledge… you never know when that knowledge will come in handy with future projects. Variety is the spice of life… so they say! I also like to draw (mainly pastels), take photos, do woodwork (mini size), knit and sew (full size) but they are mostly for pleasure… some days I get a yearning to be able to just sit all day and knit something… it never happens though… time management is an impossible task here… family… work… dog… say n’more! keep me posted with your mini creations and I’ll also keep an eye on your flickr stream, xxx
