My name is Vicky Guile, I am 34 years young and live in Jarrow in the  North East of England.

I have been interested in  dollhouse miniatures since childhood.  My first dollhouse, a gift from my grandparents, was handmade by my grandfather, fully lit and decorated and furnished with some bought items but also with the most amazing furniture handmade by both my grandmother and grandfather.  I specifically remember the wonderful sofas that they made for the living room, they were so beautifully made, detailed and just perfect, from that day I was hooked.

As a young adult I trained in Art, Design and Photography for three years, at the time it seemed that photography was my forte.   It wasn't until my mid twenties that I discovered polymer clay and its uses.  In my spare time I would make food miniatures for my dollhouse.  I was impressed by the work of other polymer clay artists but at the time could not afford to part with the money that they quite rightly asked for their beautiful work, so when I decided to try for myself the results were very pleasing.

The making of polymer clay miniatures continued as a hobby for a few more years, I practised and discovered the foundation of my own style, I say foundation as my owrk is constantly evolving, I realised what I was good at creating and also what I was not so good at creating.  I still don’t make many pretty cakes, for some reason they just arent my thing!  My daily work routine now fits around that of my family, my two boys, Jake and Nathan are always my first priority.  Working from home gives me the opportunity to be with them before and after school, at weekends and not to mention the numerous school holidays!
